Huawei established its sixth research institute in France, focusing on mathematics and computing

According to CCTV news on October 9, Huawei’s sixth research institute in France held the inauguration ceremony of its Lagrange R&D center in Paris, France. The institute will cooperate with the ÃŽle-de-France region where Paris is located to fully tap local human resources and focus on basic research in mathematics and computing.

This is the sixth R&D center in France, focusing on mathematics and computing.
Xu Wenwei, Director of Huawei and Dean of the Strategic Research Institute, said: In the past 30 years, mathematics has played a key role in the development of the communications industry. Huawei has worked closely with many mathematicians to achieve major innovations together. The Lagrange R&D Center is a platform open to all mathematicians around the world. In the future, the research results here will serve the entire communications industry.

Valerie Pecres, chairperson of the ÃŽle-de-France region, congratulated him and said that the center helped attract the world's best mathematical talents to the ÃŽle-de-France region.

According to official information, ÃŽle-de-France has 3000 mathematics researchers, which is the region with the highest concentration of mathematicians in the world. Three universities in the region rank among the top ten academic rankings of Shanghai World University.

Huawei has established five R&D centers in France in the fields of chips, mathematics, home terminals, aesthetics, and sensor and software R&D. It employs more than 200 R&D personnel. So far, Huawei has applied for 215 patents in France. Huawei France said this year that in the next four years, Huawei will continue to invest in France and is expected to make purchases of approximately US$4 billion (approximately 26.7 billion yuan) in France.
