Tesla will release "zero intervention" fully automated driving software in the next few weeks

According to foreign media reports, Elon Musk, CEO of electric car manufacturer Tesla, revealed that Tesla will release the latest version of FSD (Fully Automated Driving) software in the next few weeks , Enabling vehicles to achieve zero intervention driving.

The introduction of this feature implies that Tesla may launch a fleet of self-driving taxis, which is Tesla's internal car-hailing service. Musk believes that the company will be able to put a fleet of self-driving taxis into use in 2021.

Before the company allows drivers to use its fleet of self-driving taxis to transport passengers, the company must improve and upgrade its Autopilot (automatic assisted driving system) and fully automated driving suite.

Autopilot has always been eye-catching, but it is only partially automated. Currently, Tesla has improved the Autopilot system and fully automated driving kit through a series of software updates.

In early July, Musk said at the opening ceremony of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) that the company is "very close" to achieving level 5 autonomous driving technology and is confident that it will develop the basic functions of this technology this year.

Classified according to the level of autonomous driving technology, Level 5 autonomous driving is also fully automated driving, that is, no human operation is required in any situation in any situation.

In July of this year, Musk said that he was confident of launching fully automated driving technology before the end of this year. Although Tesla has not yet realized the function of fully automatic driving, the electric cars produced by the company after October 2016 are equipped with the hardware required for fully automatic driving. After the software is ready, these cars will have fully automated driving capabilities.

In June this year, Musk said that after July 1st, the price of Tesla's fully automated driving kit will rise by $1,000 to $8,000. He stated that the company increased the price of its fully autonomous driving kits in an attempt to make its cars an "appreciated asset."
